Skål International Roma 75th Anniversary

On December 12th, 2024, the magnificent Sala Terrazza at Casale Consolini hosted a truly memorable evening: the celebration of Skål International Roma's 75th anniversary.

This extraordinary event brought together members, sponsors, dignitaries, and institutional representatives to honour a club that has been a cornerstone of international tourism professionalism for decades.


The evening celebrated tradition and an opportunity to reflect on Skål International Roma’s achievements while looking ambitiously toward the future. The 75th anniversary was marked with elegance and style, highlighting the club’s leadership role and strengthening its ties with institutions and strategic partners.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Quality Skål Roma Awards, recognizing excellence in various tourism sectors.

The honorees were:

  • Paolo Giuntarelli, Director of Tourism and Sport for the Lazio Region, for his contribution to Institutions.

  • Alessandra Priante, President of ENIT (Italian National Tourism Board), for her role as a Destination Developer.

  • Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer at ITA Airways, for the Travel sector.

  • Elisabetta Fabri, CEO of Starhotels S.p.A., for the Hospitality sector.

These awards underscored Skål International Roma’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence in the tourism industry. The event was further enriched by the presence of sponsors such as Roscioli Hotels, Autentico, CIMO Service, Viaggi dell’Elefante, Idee per Viaggiare, Blastness, and Lybra, emphasizing the critical importance of strategic partnerships.

The evening also celebrated Skål International’s network with the participation of members from other clubs, including Toti Piscopo from Skål International Palermo, Antonio Palumbo from Skål International Pompei, and Alberto Presutti from Skål International Florence. Their presence highlighted the unity and strength of Skål International’s national network and the shared commitment to excellence and collaboration.

During his address, Skål International Roma President Luigi Sciarra reflected on the club’s many successes in 2024, including the Albergatore Day, the Rome International Skål Golf Challenge, and participation in major events such as TTG and Hospitality Day.

Sciarra emphasized, “Building connections is our mantra. We link authorities, businesses, and professionals to promote tourism development and reinforce Rome’s role as a premier destination”. He also underlined the significance of the club’s twinning agreements with Skål International Izmir and Skål International Côte d’Azur, which exemplify cultural and professional cooperation in the Mediterranean region.


The celebration also benefitted from distinguished institutional messages. Alessandra Priante, President of ENIT, praised Skål International Roma for its central role in promoting tourism excellence and highlighted the importance of networking as a pillar for addressing future challenges, especially in preparation for the Jubilee 2025. Similarly, Daniela Santanchè, Minister of Tourism, commended Skål International Roma for its dedication to innovation and training, calling the club an example for the entire sector.

As the club moves forward, its vision for 2025 is centred on ambitious initiatives such as the Think Tank and the Tourism Barometer, essential tools for analyzing emerging trends and providing value to members and stakeholders.
