Skål International presents 2020 Awards during its first virtual Annual General Assembly

During the Annual General Assembly of Skål International, held for the first time in its history virtually, the organisation presented the Skål International 2020 Awards.

The awards presented were the Sustainable Tourism Awards, the President Awards and the Skål Club of the Year.

Sustainable Tourism Awards

The Sustainable Tourism Awards, aimed at improving the visibility and giving recognition to entities in the Tourism industry with their good sustainable practices, were presented during the entity's Annual General Assembly held, on this occasion virtually, on October 17, 2020.

Membership Development Campaign

For the first time ever, Skål International have not only considered the percentage increase to determine the winners but also a net increase in membership. Therefore, two awards were presented in each category, based on the membership figures recorded at the General Secretariat on 1 October 2019 and 30 September 2020.

The Clubs having won the Silver awards are entitled to a Euros 250 reduction for the Quebec 2021 Skål International World Congress.

  • Platinum Award: Skål International Lanzarote, Spain.

  • Gold Award: Skål International Accra, Ghana.

  • Silver Award: Skål International Guadalajara, Mexico.

Net Increase Awards

  • Platinum Award: Skål International Côte d’Azur, France.

Elections results

During the session, Skål International delegates from all around the world voted on their new Executive Committee for the year 2021. The International Skål Council held its annual elections and plenary meeting on 15 October also virtually and President Peter Morrison announced the appointment of a new Trustee of the Florimond Volckaert Fund.
